Online Worship with Us
Dear Zion Members and Friends,

This Wednesday, July 8, you are invited to attend the 12:10pm WOW (Worship On Wednesday) Service online or by phone. I am requesting that your audio function on the computer or phone be muted, to avoid background noise. We continue to work on recording the services, and remaining “muted” helps us to have a cleaner recording which we can post on the website. There is also an option to “mute” your video, if you would prefer not to share your image with the group online. The online link and phone information are listed at the conclusion of this email. We are intentionally including the Meeting ID and Password.  Often both are required to join the service.  Please click or call before 12:10pm. A bulletin is attached. Beginning May 30, Zoom requires a certain upgrade to participate in Zoom gatherings.  Please check that you have the appropriate version to be able to attend worship.  If you have trouble attending on Wednesday, please email the church office:    zionhbg@comcast.net.  We will try to provide assistance.

This Wednesday, we will be celebrating communion.  Beginning next month (August), WOW returns to its usual schedule of offering communion on the first Wednesday of the month.  Monthly distance communion is taking place solely due to the emergency situation in which we are living.  Instructions to participate in the communion service and a prayer option, (also listed in the attached bulletin) for those who prefer not to participate, are listed below. There is additional information on the church website.
Those wishing to commune during online worship are invited to intentionally prepare for communion prior to the start of the service.  Prayerfully bring the elements of bread and wine or grape juice to where you will be worshipping. If you need assistance to obtain proper elements of bread, wine or grape juice, please contact the pastor.  Since the fullness of the sacrament is present in one of the elements, you may commune with bread or wine/grape juice and simply bow in prayer as the other element is raised in worship.  Please consume the elements or return them to the earth following the service.

For those continuing to fast from the sacrament, you are invited to pray the following prayer, The Spiritual Communion:

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if you were already there,
and I unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.    (Saint Alphonsus Liguori)

The peace and love of Christ be with us all.

 Pastor Karin
